Wedding at Howick Historical Village
23 February 2024
Ange and Gideon’s wedding at Howick Historical Village was nothing short of extraordinary. Before this day, I never knew that this charming historical venue could host weddings, and what a gem it turned out to be! It was the perfect backdrop for their heartfelt and intimate celebration.
The morning began at Ange’s home, where she and her three daughters shared a beautiful moment together before the wedding. She wanted to capture a special memory of each of her daughters wearing her wedding dress before she put it on herself—a moment that will undoubtedly hold sentimental value for years to come.
The ceremony took place inside a quaint chapel within the village. During their vows, they incorporated a unique tradition, filling a jar with layers of differently colored sand—each hue representing a member of their blended family. This symbolic gesture reinforced their bond as they officially became one family.
After the ceremony, we explored the village for their bridal portraits, making use of the venue’s diverse backdrops. From cobblestone pathways to rustic buildings, every corner offered a stunning and historically rich setting. The reception took place in another part of the venue, where guests gathered outside, enjoying the beautiful warm day. The relaxed atmosphere allowed everyone to connect and celebrate the newlyweds in the most heartfelt way.
Here’s Ange’s review: “We loved having Zanthe capture our special moments. She treats everyone with so much love & care while making everyone feel extremely comfortable. We have beautifully captured memories of our special day.”
